I find myself in the odd position of defending Fox Television...
An FCC ruling.
Somehow, I'm reminded of the words put in the mouth of the Marilyn character in Joyce Carol Oates' book BLONDE, to the effect that obscenity is more exemplified in things like bombs, bodies in concentration camps, and so on.
Or, as Jello Biafra put it, the idea is to get people more upset at the sight of Janet Jackson's titty than at murder and terrorism being committed on the evening news.
