RIP Jim Jones of Pere Ubu fame (1950 to 2008)

Sad news.

I once ordered MONSTER (the David Thomas box) from the Ubutique, and, having read that service would be SLOOOOOOOOOOOOW, I was not at all anxious when about six weeks had passed.

The box arrived, along with a handwritten note from Mr. Jones AND a t-shirt, apologizing for the delay. That was so sweet - I wrote back thanking him, but didn't get a reply. Not all that surprising, I suppose. It was very nice of him to do that, and, from most accounts I've read, he was a very gentle and unassuming man.

Happy (effectively) Singles Day

Well, unless a certain Dane mysteriously appears on my doorstep from Texas, or Nick Frost, Seth Rogen and Kevin Smith decide (simultaneously) to explore their bisexual potential, it looks like I'll effectively be celebrating Singles Awareness Day.

I think I'll arrange a date with myself and not show up. :)
