Was watching CNN today, and Lou Dobbs was kvetching about the amnesty demonstrations in the US occurring on Law Day, and on the 50th Anniversary of it and all.
Well, this happens to be International Workers Day, which was inspired by the Haymarket Riots in Chicago in 1891 - i.e. inspired by an AMERICAN event - and was first declared in 1889 - i.e. it trumps Law Day in terms of tradition.
And, anyway, some of us are internationalists who don't think the solution to internal strife is isolation. Colour us red, okay?
